A quick Tové Survey in today's blog. Can you see yourself right this minute taking a leap into the air - with explosive energy?

Do you feel like it is even something you'd like to do whether or not your body is capable of it? Most of us are complaining about having zero energy and no means to changing the situation. Our nutrition has been in crisis for years. Our level of exercise amounts to jaunts to the fridge or the pantry in hot puruit of everything we shouldn't be eating.

When was the last time you quietened your mind long enough to notice your breathing? Can you even imagine yourself taking time to meditate? We are cracking on at such an almightily terrifying rate and yet we're giving our physical bodies little to no support. It seems as if we are directly contributing to our own demise with no prospect of reversing the damage. Luckily for us - there is ALWAYS change and we can make that famous U-Turn with or without the assisitance of the well-spoken lady who provides the Garmin voice.

So let's make a legal U-Turn right now. I would like to share just ten tips today - something to think about in your journey back to health. I got them off the Harvard Medical School site and I figured they were authorities on the matter so let's take a look at their simple suggestions.

Admittedly their suggestions are brief and make no allowance for the massive challenges that lie ahead for those of us who suffer from the conditions they simply tell us to dismiss. If you're a smoker and top of the list is a simple "Don't smoke", I can see how harsh that might appear and how seeingly insurmountable. Everything starts slowly and becomes infinitely faster with confidence and capacity. The secret is to start. The success is to sustain the change.

Let's just look at the list and see how we measure right now against it

So that's the list and there are several aspects they don't include: metaphysical healing and spiritual awareness are two that matter to me and that spring to mind first. The list does simplify a tremendous amount of endeavour but I like the overall range of suggestions. It makes sense and it is a reminder of what we should be doing. Don't be intimidated - start slowly. You don't have to engage every point from 1 - 10. Choose the ones that matter most to you right now, the ones that you can handle.

If you would like to see more of what they offer you can follow them on Twitter and Facebook.

Most of us choose the best nutrition for our children and even our pets - buying premium this and vitamin enriched that, yet we compromise on our own health. It's your health and it's your life. You are the one who experiences the world through your body so why not enjoy a better sense of yourself and the world? Advances in medicine mean that we are living longer - wouldn't you like to live better? Aches and pains brought on by our bad habits can be eradicated by taking up one or two good habits.

As I mentioned with the list - there is no point in overwhelming yourself with too much radical change since it is completely unsustainable. Start small and don't wait for a Monday - or tomorrow - just try right now. Right now don't light the cigarette. Right now - don't go to the office vending machine and don't buy the chocolate that you'll try to sneak at your desk. Right now take in a deep breath through your nose. Watch that you don't tense your shoulders. Just take in that breath, hold it for a moment and breathe outh through your mouth until you feel like your lungs can't clear out any more oxygen. That's it - that's your start. Be conscious of your breathing today.
